Brief Synopsis
The elemental mages have no idea what they’re asking Loby to do, and he has no idea how he can ever do it in this young adult fantasy.
The fire mage had never meant to teach Loby what he needed to know to take his place. But the world needs a fire mage, and Loby is the only candidate.
The machinations of King Cestor bury the world in ice and snow. Now all the other mages are urging Loby to take on this mantle. But he’s not ready and has no intention of ever getting ready. He is terrified that if he embraces the power of fire that corrupted his master, he will burn too.
An angry mob from Hadley Town demands that Loby give them fire. He escapes into Atomidon, a realm of Nanosia where he must find the secret to mastering fire or face the angry mob and take responsibility for a dying town.
Travel with Loby through a universe of atoms.

"Though fire and rain assail us,
Though earthquake and storm impale us,
We are mice!"
He remembered the motto of the Holy Order of Mice, a secret order he had started with Jawan and Zap to protest the way some masters experimented on their apprentices like mice. He’d never told them it was his own master’s sizzling cruelty he was protesting.
Fire burned. More than that, the spirit of fire corrupted. Loby shuddered at the haunting words of the spirit fueling his . . . master's fire pit.
" . . . You dare not disappoint me. I see that you will not. The fire in you tells me that you have what it takes to destroy the material world and set me free."
The fire in me? If that had just been his imagination giving words to the crackling flames, why did the thought of . . . going back down into the fire pit terrify him?
He wished he could slide back into the world of just fooling around with his friends, but he knew Jawan wasn’t fooling around, and neither were the mages.
"No, I can’t. Look, I need to think about this. I need to go back to my master’s castle and think."

I enjoyed writing Queen of the Quantum Realm (prequel to Fire Master ) so much that I wanted to see what other surprises the people in Hadley Town and Nanosia might unleash.
